Our long-standing client wanted to transform contractor changing rooms and welfare facilities that had become tired and outdated over the years. The brief was to create a more welcoming environment, giving staff a calm, comfortable space to relax away from the main office floors.

Designing Around Users’ Needs

Our design team began by assessing the existing space and observing how staff used the facilities day to day. This helped identify changes to improve comfort and functionality, as well as the user’s overall journey through the space.

Detailed design meetings ensued, working closely with the client to prioritise the needs of the user and agree the final scheme design working in line with budget and timescales.

Delivering with Care and Coordination

During construction, Axis Environments worked closely with the Sodexo team to minimise disruption and maintain progress against key programme milestones. Careful planning and regular communication supported delivery on time and within budget.

The refurbished facilities provide a welcoming retreat for staff, with positive feedback from both the project sponsor and users demonstrating the value of considered design in everyday workplace settings.
